If you’ve finished Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign and feel eager to work your way up the echelons of multiplayer then you’ll have to wait until 2023. That’s when Call Of Duty: Black Ops developers Treyarch will be delivering the military shooter’s ranked play, although there’s no more intel on when exactly we’ll be able to dolphin-dive in. The window for ranked play’s arrival was tweeted by Treyarch alongside some more things to expect from Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, such as competitive modes, a Top 250 leaderboard, and visible skill ratings.
]]>It’s Call Of Duty season once again, which means that people are already speculating about the series’ future rather than concentrating on the game that’s about to ratatat out of the end of Activision Blizzard’s rifle. Ahead of Modern Warfare 2’s eruption on October 28th, rumours are circulating that Sledgehammer Games will return to the near-future world of their 2014 boots-off-the-ground instalment, Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare. COD help us all.
]]>Raven Software’s military battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone sees the arrival of Season 3, Classified Arms, today, which just went live at 9am PDT/5pm BST. The update is also dropping for Call of Duty: Vanguard. In addition to new guns and a special timed event featuring Godzilla and King Kong (because of course), this season also sees the debut of some new types of private matches - although Raven have qualified that the latter are temporarily disabled due to “stability issues”. At least that gives us time to download the 39GB update for Warzone, but remember to leave 13GB extra room for the patch to copy.
]]>Bestest monster frenemies King Kong and Godzilla will get to break stuff in season three of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard battle royale, Activision has announced. Cue much bellowing.
Dubbing Godzilla and Kong as ‘Titans’ of Universal Pictures’ Monsterverse, Call Of Duty is introducing the pair to the Caldera map in the time-limited Operation Monarch event beginning May 11th. According to the patch notes, Monarch is the name of the organisation that tracks down these cryptozoological Titans. Somehow there have been two movies starring the big ape-lad and the large dragon with bad breath now, one of which came out last year. I guess this is a tie-in to that one.
]]>Activision Blizzard yesterday announced that they're converting temporary QA staff in the US to full-time employees, with a pay raise and benefits to boot. Worker groups are celebrating this as a victory in their ongoing mission to force the company to improve the workplace. But one group are left out: the Raven QA staff who are currently forming a union. Actiblizz say labour law requires they do this; unions say it's an attempt to punish and divide them.
]]>A number of Activision Blizzard employees plan to stage a walkout today, whether in-person or virtually, to protest the company's plans for employees returning to the office amidst an ongoing global pandemic. The company initially announced last week that they would no longer require people be vaccinated in order to return, then seemed to quickly walk this back a bit in response to many employees saying excuse me, what. An employee group had announced a walkout before Actiblizz's change of heart, and apparently are going ahead today to continue conversations about safe workplaces and the option to work from home.
]]>Want to know when Warzone Season 2 comes out? While Warzone Season 1 just released a new update that added the Welgun and a new operator, we’ve got our sights set on Warzone Season 2. Below, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Warzone Season 2, including the release date and what you can expect in the new season. We'll also cover what to expect in Vanguard multiplayer and zombies.
]]>To celebrate anime series Attack On Titan and its impending final series and Call Of Duty's next big update, they both decided that a totally normal crossover was in order. Soon, Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone will play host to a cursed set of Attack On Titan cosmetics, including gun bits and an Operator skin. They are frightening and confusing. Please avert your eyes.
]]>While the Pacific map in Call Of Duty: Warzone ushered in a new WW2 era of beachside battle royale, it also added weapon bloom. Swings and roundabouts, or in this case, new islands and a frustrating feature that meant some of your shots wouldn't hit their target. Thankfully Raven Software realised it wasn't the most popular addition to the game and have begun the process of patching it out entirely. But it'll take time to fully remove.
]]>It's a big day for Call Of Duty: Warzone, as Verdansk jets off into the sunset and Pacific-themed map Caldera takes its place. Alongside it, all of Call Of Duty: Vanguard's weapons, some dogfighting, and loads of gameplay tweaks including adjustments to loadout drops. Ricochet Anti-Cheat's kernel-level driver also arrives to further combat those pesky cheats.
]]>Looking for all the latest info on Caldera, the new map dropping with Warzone: Pacific Season 1? Vanguard integration is just around the corner and with it Warzone’s first new full-sized map since release, Caldera. Set on an idyllic Pacific Island, Caldera brings a brand new experience for Warzone’s core Battle Royale modes, alongside a host of other playlists and features. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about Caldera leading up to the early access period on December 8. We will update this page with more information post-launch, so check back often.
]]>In the last few weeks I’ve spent a lot of time looking through scopes. Red dots and ACOGs and telescopic ones. From one FPS to the other, I put my eye up to a lens and I press triggers. Sometimes I’m a sniper dropping Nazis to protect my father, sometimes I’m a soldier surrounded by 127 other players. Lately, I’m a chunky spartan with crunchy crayon armour.
All this time with the three big FPSes of the year, each packaged in their own ways, has left me wondering what’s important nowadays. Do they need campaigns, or is multiplayer-only the way to go? How about introducing one a bit later than the other?
]]>Like a zipline descending into Verdansk, the quality curve of the Call of Duty campaign trends ever downward, year-on-year. Or so a casual observer might assume. But this is Task Force 141, soldier: we don’t do casual observation. Take my binoculars and you’ll soon see that the real story is far more complicated and compelling.
For every Ghosts in the graveyard of CODs past, there’s an unlikely space adventure to rival Titanfall. And no matter how many times Captain Price tells you to let ‘em pass, there’s always an experimental RTS mechanic or Hitman-lite stealth mission waiting around the next corner. Call of Duty has been far more brave and changeable than it’s given credit for, and while the best ideas haven’t always stuck, they’re still very much playable. What’s more, they rarely outlast a weekend - which counts for a lot in an age of life-consuming AAA releases.
Over 20 years of service, I’ve played every single COD campaign, and can share my intel freely with allies like you. So hop in for a ride through the ups and downs of the series. Just don’t take the helicopter - those things never land softly around here.
]]>This week's episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang is, once again, all about the big releases. Battlefield 2042's in a bit of state, so we talk about the many patches scheduled to fix it up. We've also heard that those banned in Call Of Duty: Vanguard will be banned across the entire series, which is nice. Halo Infinite's multiplayer surprise launched and Outriders DLC appears out of nowhere too. Imogen rounds off the news with her Apex Legends ranked update. Has she reached the platinum dream?
]]>Both of this year’s blockbuster FPSes, Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042, launched with something up their sleeves: bugs. Even after some patches, these darn creepy crawlies aren’t shaken off so easily. These games are plagued by crashes, glitches, and general instability, to the point where playing them can be as fun as wading through a swarm of locusts.
Halo Infinite, though? The multiplayer component that had a bunch of flight tests? Pretty solid. Sure, a few bugs and matchmaking issues, but for the most part, it’s the most stable multiplayer FPS I’ve played this year. What was 343’s magic pesticide? Time. Simple as. Something Vanguard and Battlefield 2042 are only just catching up on.
]]>What are the best Field Upgrades in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? Field Upgrades are a key part of your loadout in Call Of Duty: Vanguard. Not quite a Perk, not quite a Killstreak, Field Upgrades are yet another useful item you can bring along with you to help turn the tide of battle in your favour.
Generally speaking, these items are tactical and/or defensive aids you carry into the battlefield. Crucially, they often have an impact outside of the fiction of the game: for example, allowing you to choose where you respawn, mark up your minimap, or save your Killstreak in case you die. Read on for a full list of Field Upgrades and explanations on what they do, as well as how to unlock and use the best Field Upgrades to help give you the edge in battle.
]]>Looking for the best Equipment in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? Equipment is a key part of your loadout in Call Of Duty: Vanguard. While your choice of gun(s) and their attachments may form the centre of your battle plan, Equipment shouldn't be neglected either.
Equipment in Vanguard comes in two categories: Tactical and Lethal. Lethal Equipment does exactly what the name implies — provide additional means of killing enemies — while Tactical Equipment is designed to help you with stealth and other activities that are not directly deadly.
]]>There’s something about Call Of Duty: Vanguard and its multiplayer modes that feels thin. Much like my time with the game’s campaign, I’m left wanting. This is a World War II veneer glossed over a Modern Warfare canvas, with familiar pacing and shooting, but ultimately lacking the weight of Infinity Ward’s reboot.
As a Call Of Duty multiplayer experience, Vanguard delivers. But what it delivers is a stop-gap. An FPS experience that isn’t concerned with pushing the series forwards, or taking risks. Fans will have fun, sure, but its deathmatches and dominations are stuck in the past. Not to mention Zombies, which is too eager to turn back the clock.
]]>Activision have made a big deal of fighting cheaters with Call Of Duty: Vanguard, bragging about new anti-cheat tech Ricohet, and a new progress report on their anti-cheat efforts makes clear they really want wrong'uns gone. If you get banned for cheating, they'll ban you from the whole Call Of Duty series (well, as much as accounts allow). Eat it, nerks.
]]>Want to know the best M1928 loadout in Call Of Duty Vanguard? The M1928 has dominated in the Vanguard meta since launch, and we expect that to continue into Season 2. With reasonably high damage, low recoil and fast handling speeds, the M1928 is a brilliant SMG for any close-range situation. With our M1928 loadout, we make its damage, range, bullet velocity and sprint-to-fire speed even better, making it the perfect weapon to use when running-and-gunning around corners.
Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 is set to launch at the start of February, but we expect frequent balance patches in the meantime. If any changes impact the M1928 and this loadout, we'll update this guide to let you know. Make sure to check back when Season 2 launches to see if our M1928 loadout has changed in the new meta.
]]>I arrive at this episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang thoroughly shootered. Both big FPS releases of the month, Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042, have been at my fingertips this week and I've got some thoughts. Of course, Imogen hits us with news too. Valorant has another new character coming out, Fortnite pulls Travis Scott, and Imogen gives us the lowdown on just how much she's enjoying Apex Legends' latest season.
]]>What are the Killstreaks in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? As the name implies, Killstreaks are awarded in Call Of Duty multiplayer matches based on the number of kills you can rack up before dying yourself. Vanguard continues the series' tradition with its own selection of Killstreaks, a desirable set of perks that reward your prowess by giving you an even bigger advantage over the competition.
]]>Want to know the best NZ-41 loadout in Vanguard? The NZ-41 is a slow-firing Assault Rifle that packs a heavy punch, like the BAR. While your first instinct might be to raise the fire rate and improve the TTK, that doesn't seem possible here. You can increase the fire rate, but it drastically lowers the damage in return, making the NZ-41 a mediocre AR. Fortunately, we've spent some time tinkering and found the best NZ-41 loadout in Vanguard Season 1 that unlocks its full potential.
With Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 set to launch at the start of February, we expect frequent fixes and patches to set up the new meta. If any of these changes impact the NZ-41 and this loadout, we'll update this guide to let you know. Check back when Season 2 launches to see if we've altered our NZ-41 loadout to fit the new meta.
]]>Looking for the best Einhorn Revolving loadout in Vanguard? While many flocked to the Combat Shotgun, the Einhorn Revolving is an exceptional Shotgun that you should definitely try. With a setup that focuses on accuracy and power, you can create a one-shot kill machine that can blitz through an entire team with ease. You'll need to level it up a lot to get all of the necessary attachments, so make sure you check out how to level up and earn XP fast in Vanguard before trying to build this Einhorn Revoling loadout.
Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 is set to launch at the start of February, so we expect the meta to shift drastically very soon. Make sure to check back regularly to see how this Einhorn Revolving loadout changes to suit the new meta with each update.
]]>Want to know the best AS44 loadout in Vanguard? The base AS44 is rather weak, with high recoil and low damage making it rank lowest in our list of the best Assault Rifles in Vanguard. However, we've got an AS44 class setup that is extremely powerful and much more viable in the Vanguard Season 1 meta. Our setup aims to improve the damage and fire rate so you can melt enemies at lightning speed, while also maintaining fast handling speeds that make the AS44 strong in close-quarters encounters.
As always, we expect frequent changes to the meta throughout Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 1. If the AS44 is impacted by any fixes or patches, we'll update this guide to let you know. Make sure to check back when Season 2 launches to see if our best AS44 loadout has changed in the new meta.
]]>How does Prestige work in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? Prestige is a long-standing system in Call Of Duty games which allows players who have maxed out their character level (known as Military Rank in COD) to continue to reap rewards from their progress. The system makes a return in Vanguard, where it operates in much the same way it did in last year's Black Ops Cold War. Prestige kicks in once you reach Military Rank 55, and Prestige Rank is increased by improving your Season Level.
]]>Looking for the best PPSH-41 loadout in Vanguard? While the recoil might initially seem sharp, you can transform the PPSH-41 into a very strong SMG with the right setup. With attachments that focus on recoil control and damage, the PPSH-41 becomes an unstoppable laser that melts enemies at incredible speed. Make sure to look through this PPSH-41 loadout before jumping into your next multiplayer match so that you can rack up kills and secure that V2 Rocket.
With Season 2 on the horizon, we expect plenty of tweaks and changes in the coming weeks. If any patches affect the PPSH-41 or this loadout, we'll update this guide to let you know. Make sure to check back when Season 2 launches in February to see how this PPSH-41 loadout changes in the new Call Of Duty: Vanguard meta.
]]>Looking for the best Sniper Rifle in Vanguard Season 1? With a trusty Sniper Rifle to hand, you can sit back and crack skulls effortlessly across the map. To kill your enemy, it only takes one shot. Of course, all of the Snipers in Vanguard feel very different to use, so we've ranked them all from best to worst. If you want to know the best Sniper in Vanguard, you're in the right place.
Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 introduced the Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle, which is a new Sniper that you unlock at tier 31 in the current battle pass. We've updated this list to include the Gorenko and will continue to add any future Sniper Rifles that come in future seasons. Make sure to check back regularly to see how balance patches and meta shifts affect our list of the best Vanguard Snipers.
]]>Want to know the best Marksman Rifle in Vanguard Season 1? If you find Sniper Rifles a bit clunky, then Marksman Rifles should be more your speed. They're much snappier, making them more forgiving and a lot easier to use. Below, we've ranked every Marksman Rifle in Vanguard from best to worst, so that you can easily see which one you should use to make the best loadout.
While Call Of Duty: Vanguard has received a few new guns since launch, none of them are Marksman Rifles. If a future season does bring new weapons in this class, we'll update this list to let you know how they fit into the current meta. Make sure to check back regularly as new patches are deployed to see how the meta shifts and whether our Marksman Rifle list changes.
]]>Looking to create the best 3-Line Rifle loadout and class setup in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? The 3-Line Rifle is an unwieldy but incredibly powerful Sniper Rifle in Call Of Duty: Vanguard, with higher one-shot-kill capabilities than any other rifle in the game. If you want a quick-scoping weapon, you'll be hard-pushed to create a decent class out of the 3-Line Rifle, but for holding angles and punishing enemy advancements, there's really no gun that does the job better.
Below we'll show you how to put together the very best 3-Line Rifle class setup, complete with a full loadout of 10 attachments and how each one benefits the gun, and recommendations for secondary weapons, perks, and equipment to use alongside the 3-Line Rifle.
]]>Does Call Of Duty: Vanguard feature split screen for multiplayer? The short answer is that, regrettably, PC players don't have the option to play Call Of Duty: Vanguard in split screen on their platform of choice. We know that this isn't what most of our readers will want to hear, but it's best to get the bad news out of the way first.
]]>Looking for the best LMG in Vanguard Season 1? LMGs are all about power. They unleash torrents of bullets towards your enemies, punching through any defence and melting the opposition with ease. If you want to know which Vanguard LMG is best, you're in the right place. Below, we've ranked every LMG available in Vanguard Season 1 from best to worst, so that you can filter out the duds and focus on making the best loadout.
Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 added a variety of new guns, such as the Cooper Carbine and Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle. Unfortunately, the list of LMGs available in Vanguard hasn't changed since launch. If a future update brings a new LMG, we'll update this list so that you can see how it ranks in the current meta. Make sure to check back regularly to see how these LMGs change as the meta shifts with future patches.

Luckily, we've got the best Kar98k loadout in Vanguard Season 1 multiplayer, so check it out below and then hop into a match and rack up some easy kills.
As Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 Reloaded and Season 2 draw near, we expect frequent updates and changes to the meta. If the Kar98k receives any tweaks, we'll update this guide to let you know.
]]>What are the best settings to use when playing Call Of Duty: Vanguard on PC? Call Of Duty: Vanguard features a daunting number of graphical, audio, and gameplay settings you can adjust to suit your preferences. Graphics settings in particular can have a big influence on gameplay in an FPS with a big online multiplayer component: the last thing you want is to have your system struggling to run the game and stuttering on you at a vital moment during a match.
]]>Want to know the best Type 100 loadout in Vanguard? The Type 100 seemed to get largely ignored in the weeks following launch, as it got overshadowed by behemoths like the STG44 and MP40. It's a real shame, because the Type 100 is one of the best guns in Vanguard and certainly deserves a moment in the spotlight. Thankfully, it's just as strong in Season 1 and we have everything you need to make the Type 100 a killing machine. Below, we'll cover how to make the best Type 100 loadout in Call Of Duty: Vanguard so that you can focus on getting kills and earning a V2 Rocket.

Make sure to check back when Season 2 launches to find out if this Type 100 loadout has received any tweaks to fit the new meta.
]]>Looking for the best Automaton loadout in Call Of Duty Vanguard? The Automaton didn't prove popular immediately, but it is certainly one of the best guns in Vanguard Season 1. With laser accuracy and a rapid fire rate, the Automaton will let you chew through the enemy team at incredible speed.
]]>If you’ve played a Call Of Duty campaign in the last decade, Call Of Duty: Vanguard doesn’t bring anything new to the ride. This is a familiar World War 2 funfair, where you’re steered through artillery strikes and down swathes of enemies like its whack-a-mole. By the time you get off, it’s all blurred into one forgettable experience. How could you emerge shellshocked, when you’ve seen it all before?
]]>Looking for the best Volk loadout in Call Of Duty Vanguard? The Volk has a sharp vertical recoil pattern which makes it very difficult to use in medium-long range encounters. However, when used at close-range, the Volk is actually one of the best Assault Rifles in Vanguard. It balances fire rate and damage to easily tear through enemies with an impressive time-to-kill. With this loadout, we aim to make the Volk easier to control so that you can make the most of its TTK at medium-range, making it more viable in Vanguard Season 1.
As Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 2 approaches, we expect to see frequent patches and fixes. If any of these changes impact the Volk or this loadout, we'll update this guide to let you know. Check back when Season 2 drops at the start of February to see how this loadout changes to fit the new meta.
]]>Looking for the best Combat Shotgun loadout in Vanguard? The Combat Shotgun is an extremely powerful weapon that can net you plenty of kills, but it won't suit every playstyle. The Combat Shotgun is fairly slow and clunky, so those looking for speed and snappiness should look elsewhere. The Einhorn Revolving and Gracey Auto are both much faster, so use them if you want to run-and-gun with a Shotgun in Call Of Duty Vanguard multiplayer.
If you're set on using the Combat Shotgun, then you're in the right place. We've got two of the best Combat Shotgun loadouts in Vanguard. One focuses on high damage, while the other tries to make the Combat Shotgun a little quicker, even if it still falls short compared to other Vanguard Shotguns. Either way, the Combat Shotgun's extremely high damage and remarkable range make it one of the best guns in Vanguard.
As we move towards Season 2 and beyond, we'll be sure to keep you up to date on any tweaks and changes made to the Combat Shotgun that might affect these loadouts.
]]>Want to know the best Shotgun in Vanguard Season 1? The words 'Shotgun meta' might be enough to send chills down your spine. Most Call Of Duty games end up having a Shotgun meta at some point in their lifespan and Vanguard is no different. So far, we've seen the Combat Shotgun consistently rank as one of the best guns in Call Of Duty: Vanguard, while the Double Barrel Akimbo setup has also been extremely popular throughout Season 1. Below, we'll rank every Shotgun in Vanguard from best to worst and then go on to explain the strengths and weaknesses of each one, while also revealing a particular attachment combo that is ridiculously powerful.
While Call Of Duty: Vanguard has already received some new guns since launch, we haven't got a new Shotgun yet. ]]>Want to level up fast in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? Winning matches in Call Of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer means keeping up with the competition, which in turn means gaining XP and levelling up as rapidly as possible. However, Vanguard complicates things a bit by having three completely separate XP systems active in the game.
]]>Looking for the best MG42 loadout in Call Of Duty Vanguard? The MG42 perfectly balances power and precision, providing fast, easy kills on any multiplayer map. This makes it the best LMG in Vanguard, and one of the best guns in Vanguard Season 1. With this MG42 class setup, you can make it deal even more damage while maintaining its accuracy and control, decreasing the time-to-kill so that you can rip through enemies at lightning speed.
Below, you can find the best MG42 loadout and class setup in Call Of Duty: Vanguard. With Season 1 Reloaded and the launch of Season 2 just around the corner, we expect frequent changes and tweaks to Vanguard's weapons. If the meta shifts and the MG42 changes, we'll be sure to update this guide to let you know.
]]>Want to know the best BAR loadout in Call Of Duty Vanguard? While the BAR fires extremely slowly, you only need to land a few shots to understand why it's one of the best Assault Rifles in Vanguard. It has the highest damage of all the ARs and minimal horizontal recoil, making it powerful and precise. With the right attachments, you can push the BAR even further and create an unstoppable killing machine. Below, we cover everything you need to know to make the best BAR loadout in Vanguard Season 1.
With Season 2 set to launch at the start of February, we expect frequent balance patches to impact the current Call Of Duty: Vanguard meta. If any changes impact the BAR or this setup, we'll update this guide to let you know.

Below, we'll provide the best STG44 loadout in Vanguard Season 1, covering both a short and long-range setup. As we move towards the launch of Season 2, we'll update this guide regularly to let you know whether the STG44 has received any tweaks or changes that affect these loadouts.
]]>Trying to figure out the very best Perks to use in Call Of Duty: Vanguard? Perks may not seem like a terribly important decision at first, but the benefits your Perks can bestow in Call Of Duty: Vanguard can turn you into a far deadlier force on the battlefield. As with previous Call Of Duty titles, you can only use three Perks at once in a loadout, and you can only put specific Perks in each of your Perk slots, which means you have to be careful when deciding which Perks you'll forego in favour of others.
If you're looking for advice on which Perks to use in your custom class setup, or if you're not really sure how the Perk system works in general, you've come to the right place. Below we'll walk you through the very best Perks to use, and how each Perk benefits you so that you can make the most informed decision possible.
]]>Want the best MP40 loadout in Vanguard? The MP40 is one of the best guns in Vanguard Season 1 multiplayer and we don't expect that to change as Season 2 draws nearer. With high damage, minimal recoil and startlingly quick handling speeds, the MP40 shines above most other guns. However, if you want to unlock its full potential, you'll need to find the best loadout. Luckily, we've got the best MP40 class right here.

Fortunately, we've looked through the best guns in Vanguard and made the best Vanguard loadouts that you can use to get easy V2 Rockets.
Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 introduced multiple new weapons, such as the Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle and Cooper Carbine. Along with yer usual story campaign and multiplayer modes, it has Treyarch's Zombies too. Though I do suspect the part of Vanguard many want isn't out yet, and they won't even pay for: the new Pacific island map coming to CoD: Warzone at a later point.
]]>Want to know the best Assault Rifle in Vanguard Season 1? Assault Rifles are usually the most popular weapons in any Call Of Duty title. In Vanguard, they're also some of the best guns available. Below, we will rank all of the Assault Rifles in Vanguard Season 1, explaining the strengths and weaknesses of each so that you can understand the current meta.
Call Of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 introduced the Cooper Carbine, which is a short-range Assault Rifle that functions similarly to an SMG. We've updated this guide to include the Cooper Carbine and will continue to add any other Assault Rifles that come to Vanguard in future seasons. New seasons also bring balance patches and fixes which can greatly affect different weapons, so check back regularly to see how our list of the best Assault Rifles changes as the meta shifts.

]]>Want to know the Call Of Duty: Vanguard release times and download sizes? Yep, it's that time of the year again: a brand new Call Of Duty to sink our rotting zombie teeth into. And so there are two questions flooding Google's airwaves above all others: when can we start playing Vanguard, and how much storage space do we need in order to install it?
This quick guide will give you the answers to both these questions, with release times for various timezones, and download sizes across all platforms - including the optional high resolution assets pack for PC players.
]]>Activision have squirted out another Call Of Duty: Vanguard trailer, but the drippings are more specifically relevant to us this time. It's the game's "PC trailer", and it appears alongside a blog post offering more detail on download sizes, specs and so on.
]]>This time, I've returned from a trip to Devon having spent too much time ignoring my friends and playing Hollow Knight instead. But what about FPSes? Well, I didn't play any of those. Thankfully Imogen has all of us covered on this week's episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang, with a news segment rammed with lots of exciting announcements. Namely, Apex Legends gets a new Legend and map, Halo Infinite sees a new trailer, and Call Of Duty's new anti-cheat Ricochet leaks early.
]]>I've returned from my trip to the Lake District, with aching calves and a desire to talk about online shooters with Imogen. On this week's episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang, we don't chat sore muscles, instead, we focus on various Halloween events in games like Apex Legends and Rainbow Six: Siege, our thoughts on the Battlefield 2042 beta, Destiny 2 vaulting yet more stuff, and Call Of Duty: Vanguard finally introducing anti-cheat.
]]>This week, Activision revealed Ricochet, their new kernel-level anti-cheat that will be used for Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. They've been in a constant battle with cheaters for ages now, so it's nice to see them stepping up their anti-cheat game. Unfortunately, Ricochet might have already leaked, and it's claimed cheat-makers are currently working on reverse-engineering it.
]]>Call Of Duty: Vanguard has finally revealed its zombie mode. It continues the zombies storyline from the Black Ops series, returning to WW2, where you'll be fighting Nazi zombies with the aid of new 'Dark Aether' powers. The reveal trailer is below.
]]>As it goes in online competitive games, Activision are in a constant battle against cheaters in Call Of Duty games. They've banned more than half a million cheaters in Call Of Duty: Warzone and yet there are always more. They've announced a new tool to help crack down: their Ricochet Anti-Cheat system. When it launches in Warzone and Call Of Duty: Vanguard it will include server-side tools along with a kernel-level driver to monitor applications interacting with the game.
]]>Call Of Duty: Vanguard has started to dribble out a few more details about its story in new trailers, with a particular focus on its five new protagonists. If those characters are appealing, then good news: Vanguard's developers say that they hope to make a Vanguard 2 and 3 with the same cast.
]]>This week's episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang is marked by competition. Imogen and I quiz each other on all things shooter trivia, and someone knows more than the other. Anyway, before that, there's plenty of news to catch up on. Call Of Duty: Vanguard has fixed a weird dognado glitch, time-loopy shooter Lemnis Gate is out, Halo: Infinite tech preview number two arrives very soon, and Overwatch 2 announces some reworks. Spoiler alert: Bastion now has a hat.
]]>The primary function of ragdoll physics in video games, everyone knows, is to freak out and make people laugh. Everyone knows this. The technology was created explicitly to bring a subversive touch of merry mayhem to po-faced murdergames. Everyone knows this. But developers are wary of overdoing it or openly acknowledging this fact which everyone knows. This is why, sadly, Call Of Duty: Vanguard will indeed 'fix' the 'bug' which could make attack dogs turn into a giant maelstrom of limbs, teeth, and mashing meat noises, a phenomenom known as the 'dognado'. Tragic.
]]>Call Of Duty: Vanguard's multiplayer feels familiar, have I been here before? Yes, in the past, but also in the future. Despite its World War II setting, Vanguard's open beta has me thinking back to the days of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. Having played a sizable chunk of it now, I'm not kidding when I say that it's like the Modern Warfare lot LARPING on a WWII set. For some this will be good. For others this will be bad. For me? It needs Warzone.
]]>Predictably, Imogen and I begin this week's episode of Ultimate Audio Bang by getting excited about Deathloop before realising that there's plenty of other newsy bits to cover. Listen to get our hot thoughts on the Call Of Duty: Vanguard reveal, Battlefield 2042's delay, the Overwatch League using an early build of Overwatch 2 in 2022, and plenty more shootery things.
]]>Call Of Duty: Vanguard has already had a beta on PlayStation, and if you've pre-ordered the game you can play it right now on PC. On Saturday however, the beta will open up to everyone with a Battle.net account.
]]>Call Of Duty: Warzone is headed to the Pacific for its next map. It'll launch alongside Call Of Duty: Vanguard, and the first footage of the new locale was shown during tonight's Vanguard multiplayer reveal. You can watch the full video below, which has details of new modes and maps that will be included in this weekend's beta.
]]>On this week's episode of the Ultimate Audio Bang podcast Imogen and I chat EA sharing Apex Legends' ping system with other companies, Call Of Duty: Vanguard things, and the fact Destiny 2 is adding a big lady. I for one am a fan of this big lady, as her getup reminds me of a candelabra, which is nice.
]]>The next big trailer bonanza hosted by everyone's pal Geoff Keighley has just come and gone. You can watch all of Gamescom Opening Night Live if you don't want to miss out on all the bants. If you just want to know who showed up with what, well we've got that list here for you.
]]>During Gamescom Opening Night Live, we got our first look at what to expect from Call Of Duty: Vanguard's campaign. Last week, Activision confirmed the game would be set in an alternate history World War 2, and the new footage of one of the opening missions follows a sniper stealthing around in Stalingrad. It's dramatic, cinematic, and it sure looks like a Call Of Duty game set in WW2. Take a peek yourself in the trailer below.
]]>German games show Gamescom officially kicks off tonight, returning as an online-only event for a second year thanks to the pandemic. Gamescom opens with Opening Night Live, a livestreamed showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley and Natascha Becker with promises of announcements and those old chestnuts, "world premieres." A new Saints Row is on the table, and that's all I need to know. You can watch the stream here below.
]]>Double Fine did it: they made a sequel to Psychonauts that's great. And different, too. It's a follow-up with modern day sensibilities that plays much better than the original. Given that it was one of our most anticipated games of the year, it's fair to say we're quite pleased.
]]>Call Of Duty: Vanguard is getting ready for its trip back to alt-history WW2 with a quick look into this year's future. Activision have scheduled an "alpha" for PlayStation players this weekend, followed by an open beta on all platforms next month, in as much as those terms mean anything when they're scheduled so close together. In any case, they'll be properly revealing Vanguard's multiplayer modes on September 7th followed by two weekends of multiplayer beta testing prior to launch in November.
]]>After several leaks, Call Of Duty: Vanguard has been officially revealed. It's not quite the WW2-setting the leaks suggested, but rather an alt-history post-WW2 shooter about stopping Hitler's successor.
Watch the trailer below.
]]>Rumours earlier this year suggested that the next shootybang Call of Duty game would be called Call Of Duty: Vanguard, and that it would bring a World War 2-themed Warzone map.
New images leaked online today on social media seem to lend further credence to those rumours, showing a Call Of Duty: Vanguard logo and a background featuring four characters holding WW2 equipment.
]]>It's E3 season and rumours are flying all over the place like a bunch of, err, Spitfires. Among them, Call Of Duty: Vanguard, the rumoured World War 2-themed next instalment of the big shooty-bang, and the possibility of a new Warzone map arriving alongside its launch later this year. I am cautiously excited.
