The developers of House Flipper have promised that support and new content for the hit renovation sim will continue to land throughout 2024 alongside plans for its newly-released sequel. On the list are two ‘major’ bits of content, along with bug fixes and what looks to be the tease of a restaurant-themed DLC.
]]>April Fool's Day mostly exists to demonstrate that marketing people are not funny, but I do like when developers follow through and actually make daft jokes reality. Case in point: renovate 'em up House Flipper has added two apartments from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. for you to fix up. You can refresh the 90s vibes of Rachel & Monica's flat, and make Chandler & Joey's flat at least somewhat resemble a place fit for human habitation. I approve of this April Foolishness.
]]>Nerves have been sufficiently jangled as of late, not least thanks to the slew of action packed games that have landed in recent months. I crave an altogether more sedate beginning to next year, and so my mind turns to games in which violence, reflex or any other kind of unblinking attentiveness takes a back seat.
]]>Is this pandering? If it is, I'm okay being pandered to. House Flipper Pets VR is a new spin-off from the fixer-upper floor-scrubbing sim which adds dogs, cats and co-op multiplayer. So you can tidy a house with a friend and then fill it with furniture your pet pal will like.
]]>HGTV 'em up House Flipper has announced a new DLC in the works and it is not what I'd have expected. The renovation simulation is now working on a DLC that will add pets. We're not just talking cats and dogs either. No, you'll have parrots and bunnies and turtles too. Because how are you supposed to appreciate your freshly-flipped house if you don't have anyone to share it with? The DLC will add new houses too, but I'm honestly just worried about the dogs.
]]>Ah, November 19th. The fateful day that CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to grace our screens. It won't be doing that, though, because it's delayed until December 10th. As a consolation prize, however, you could play a little bit of House Flipper. In a move I'm sure is no mere coincidence, it's adding a free cyberpunk DLC today - complete with a new futuristic apartment, loads of cyberpunk-themed furniture, and a skin that makes your hands look all techy.
]]>I have mentioned this in a supporter post, but House Flipper has become a go-to game in my library for when life just gets too much, like how we all have a library of films to watch when atrociously hungover (mine included Legend and This Is Spinal Tap).
It was a big day for me when I could finally afford a to flip a whole house in House Flipper, that being the titular goal of the game. The awful grey/orange kitchen and living area up top there is my creation, the sort of fun new build advertised for students (except every home in House Flipper is a detached home in a MASSIVE garden).
]]>As someone who has rolled lawns, built decking, knocked down old conservatories and more, I cannot think of few things I'd rather simulate less than the contents of Garden Flipper. Released today, it's the first major expansion for House Flipper, Empyrean's game of cleaning up other people's messes and ordering shedloads of virtual Ikea furniture to conceal interior design sins. As the title might suggest, this one is about all things outdoors. Mow lawns, install garden furniture, plant flowers and generally act like you're part of the Gardener's World B-team. See the trailer below.
]]>The curious do 'em up House Flipper will go outside in the sunshine in May with its first paid expansion, Garden Flipper. As you might guess from the name, you clever little detective you, it'll send us out to renovate gardens as well as homes. I didn't stick with House Flipper for long because I found myself wishing the renovation was more like the physics-driven chaos of Viscera Cleanup Detail rather than just clicking to make things go, but I might be tempted back by these gardens. The possibilities really do look quite nice.
]]>We've just passed the half-way point of 2018, so Ian Gatekeeper and all his fabulously wealthy chums over at Valve have revealed which hundred games have sold best on Steam over the past six months. It's a list dominated by pre-2018 names, to be frank, a great many of which you'll be expected, but there are a few surprises in there.
2018 releases Jurassic World Evolution, Far Cry 5 Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Warhammer: Vermintide II are wearing some spectacular money-hats, for example, while the relatively lesser-known likes of Raft, Eco and Deep Rock Galactic have made themselves heard above the din of triple-A marketing budgets.
]]>"Miss, Miss, it's so sunny, can we have Steam Charts on the field?"
"NO. Sit down and write about popular PC games in this oppressively hot room until the DAY YOU DIE."
]]>Thank goodness you're here! If you weren't to read the Steam Charts today, you would DIE.
]]>Many things are easy in games that I struggle with in reality. A light jog. Climbing ladders. Carrying stuff (my limit’s an eight pack of Pepsi Max Cherry, let alone five axes and a wheel of cheese). But House Flipper, a first-person handyman ‘em up and current chart champion, is based on my bete noire: keeping a house clean and healthy. I stink at cleaning my house. And now my house stinks. So what better way to test the accuracy of House Flipper’s simulation than comparing its virtual dumps to mine?
]]>Please sit down. Make sure you have a friend with you, or available on the telephone. Plunkbat isn't at number one. Somehow, it's something even more boring. But the rest of the charts are a splendid sight! No GTA, no CS:GO, no Witcher 3, no Skyrim!
]]>A pleasingly fresh collection of games dominating the top ten Steam moneymakers this week, along with the shock absence of Counter-Strike: GO! No shocks at the #1 spot, but a couple of surprising appearances in the top 5.
]]>The thrills, chills, and plaster fills of DIY have come to PC today in House Flipper. The daddification of video games not quite being at the point where we get games about dads replacing fuses or painting the nursery, House Flipper puts a small business spin on DIY by having us renovate and fix-up houses for clients or so we can sell 'em on for big bucks. Knock through walls! Plaster! Paint! Rewire! Refit! Renovate! Tidy! Make your fortune! As a Viscera Cleanup Detail esports professional, I am delighted by the idea - though I can't help but wish this first-person handymaner were multiplayer and a bit more dynamic.
]]>After the joys of cleaning up spaceguts in Visceral Cleanup Detail, I feel ready for something more constructive. I've mopped up blood and burned bodies but what do I have to show for it? A grubby office which my friends trash every time they visit. I feel ready for House Flipper [official site], a first-person renovator about smartening up homes by repairing, remodelling, painting, and decorating homes. Tasks like knocking down walls, fitting kitchens, and painting look a genuine treat, though sadly it seems to be singleplayer-only (and that 'flipping' premise is awful). Here, check out this trailer:
