The development of 2020 FPS Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War cost $700 million, making it the most expensive video game project yet reported. That’s according to a court filing reviewed by Stephen Totilo’s Game File (paywalled) in which Call Of Duty creative head Patrick Kelly divulged the budgets of three games in the series.
]]>If rumour speak true, the next Call of Duty game will be another entry in the Black Ops series. It'll also, allegedly, take place during the first Gulf War across 1990 and 1991, in which a US-led coalition of countries including the UK, Saudi Arabia and Egypt invaded Iraq in response to the Saddam Hussein government's conquest of Kuwait.
]]>If you’ve finished Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign and feel eager to work your way up the echelons of multiplayer then you’ll have to wait until 2023. That’s when Call Of Duty: Black Ops developers Treyarch will be delivering the military shooter’s ranked play, although there’s no more intel on when exactly we’ll be able to dolphin-dive in. The window for ranked play’s arrival was tweeted by Treyarch alongside some more things to expect from Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, such as competitive modes, a Top 250 leaderboard, and visible skill ratings.
]]>What may be leaked images of multiplayer maps from 2024’s Call Of Duty and this year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have emerged online over the weekend. The concept art was posted to Twitter by RealiityUK, an account that’s since been suspended, but not before they explained that the images were discovered in Warzone Mobile test files (thanks Eurogamer). The images shared by RealiityUK are still up on ResetEra if you want to have a nosy.
]]>Like a zipline descending into Verdansk, the quality curve of the Call of Duty campaign trends ever downward, year-on-year. Or so a casual observer might assume. But this is Task Force 141, soldier: we don’t do casual observation. Take my binoculars and you’ll soon see that the real story is far more complicated and compelling.
For every Ghosts in the graveyard of CODs past, there’s an unlikely space adventure to rival Titanfall. And no matter how many times Captain Price tells you to let ‘em pass, there’s always an experimental RTS mechanic or Hitman-lite stealth mission waiting around the next corner. Call of Duty has been far more brave and changeable than it’s given credit for, and while the best ideas haven’t always stuck, they’re still very much playable. What’s more, they rarely outlast a weekend - which counts for a lot in an age of life-consuming AAA releases.
Over 20 years of service, I’ve played every single COD campaign, and can share my intel freely with allies like you. So hop in for a ride through the ups and downs of the series. Just don’t take the helicopter - those things never land softly around here.
]]>Looking for the best LAPA loadout in Warzone Pacific? Treyarch and Raven Software are sending Cold War out with a bang, adding a series of unusual, interesting weapons in the final seasons. The LAPA SMG is the latest, and one of the most intriguing yet. Several of its barrel attachments alter the LAPA’s damage and fire rate. That variety makes the LAPA a very fun gun to customize and play around with. Of course, there is always a best configuration. Once you’ve had your fun and are ready to sweat, we’re here to help.
]]>Looking for the best M82 loadout in Warzone Pacific? This hard-hitting semi-automatic Sniper Rifle hearkens back to the Barret .50s of the original Modern Warfare trilogy and is a ton of fun in Warzone. It fills an entirely unique niche in the Sniper Rifle class, splitting the difference in bullet velocity between extreme range kings like the ZRG and faster-handling weapons like the Swiss K31.
However, the M82 is also semi-automatic, which makes it a touch more forgiving than any of these alternatives. With one-shot potential and quick follow-ups to missed headshots, the M82 is perhaps the most underrated Sniper Rifle in Warzone. If you want to give it try and see for yourself, this guide will give you all the knowledge you need to take on Verdansk.
]]>If you're looking to optimise your Marshal, then read on... The Marshal is an early Season 5 addition to Warzone, and it’s a fun one. This handgun is really a tiny shotgun, with all the expected properties. It has options for Dragon’s Breath Rounds and Akimbo, so there’s a lot of fun to be had even if it won’t be meta. If you want to give the Marshal a try, we’re here to help with our guide to the best Marshal loadout in Warzone Pacific.
]]>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 5 update will add Double Agent mode, “an investigative Multiplayer party experience” where a team of 10 is infiltrated by three randomly selected double agents. The lone investigator must work with the rest of the players to snuff out the creeps intent on planting bombs and taking lives.
]]>Looking for the best QBZ loadout in Warzone Pacific? While it hasn't quite caught up in popularity to the Krig 6, the QBZ has similarly low recoil and better best-case time-to-kill. Where it suffers is its lower stomach and limb damage, which make it a bit less consistent. You need to be precise to make it strong, but that is easy on a gun this accurate. If you’re unfamiliar and want to try the QBZ out, this guide will give you all the tools you need.
]]>Looking to optimise your OTs 9 setup? The OTs 9, a midseason addition to Warzone from Season 4 Reloaded, is a seriously powerful SMG. While a small magazine might hold it back slightly in Trios and Quads, the OTs 9 is utterly dominant in Solo and Duo modes. If you haven’t unlocked this little monster yet, check out our guide on how to unlock the OTs 9 in Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War multiplayer. Make sure you grab it soon, because this is one of the best SMGs in Warzone Pacific.
]]>The new OTs 9 SMG is a fast-firing, easy to control beast in Warzone, limited only by a 40 round maximum magazine size. You can get your hands on it now by buying a new blueprint bundle in the Call of Duty store, but if you prefer to do things the old-fashioned way we’ve got you covered with this guide on how to unlock the OTs 9 in the Season 4 Reloaded update.
]]>Call Of Duty: Warzone's Season 4 mid-season update has landed, and let me tell you, there's a lot to digest. ]]>A while ago it was rumoured that Call Of Duty: Warzone would get some magic red doors for fast travel. Turns out those doors are being installed right now in preparation for Season 4, which drops on Thursday. Oh, and there's a new event about raining satellites? A new gulag's also being popped in, alongside a new zippy vehicle. But one thing remains, and that's Nakatomi Plaza. I'm glad it's sticking around for the foreseeable.
]]>Season 4 of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War kicks off next week on June 17th, and at tonight's Summer Game Fest Treyarch revealed a little of what to expect. ]]>Call Of Duty: Warzone and Cold War season three has started this week and it's been a busy one. The developers say that modern day Verdansk is gone for good. In other map change news, Outbreak has a new region and another round-based Zombies map will be coming in a future season.
]]>The Warzone Caldera Season 3 update has added Hunt for Adler, a limited-time opportunity to unlock a bunch of new cosmetic items and learn more about the lore of Verdansk. Here’s how to complete Hunt for Adler.
]]>While Warzone players are expecting an explosive end to the current season on Wednesday, the devs have confirmed that the next won't actually start until Thursday the 22nd. Last night they laid out some of what to expect from Season Three of Warzone and Cold War, with new weapons including a spring-loaded ballistic knife and a baseball bat. They're still not saying what will happen in Warzone on Wednesday, but let's focus on the important detail: KNIFE GUN. Plus, they've nerfed the Sykov.
]]>Fancy a ludicrously high damage sniper rifle in Cold War and Warzone? Well, the ZRG 20mm is for you. This one deals a one-shot kill everywhere but the legs in Cold War, and compensates by having a horrendously slow fire rate. Here’s a guide on the requirements and best loadout to unlock the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle in Warzone and Cold War.
]]>Call Of Duty: Warzone and Cold War are heating up tomorrow with a mid season update. New maps are coming to multiplayer. New operators are dropping in to both Cold War and Warzone. Oh, and Warzone's install size is shrinking. After a biggo download tomorrow, that is. Don't be surprised when your main game drive suddenly feels just a little bit roomier afterwards.
]]>The latest season of Cold War and Warzone allows players to unlock the Machete, a brutal melee weapon. You'll need to fulfil a certain requirement to unlock it though, so here's both how to unlock the Machete and the best loadout to do so with.
]]>The new Outbreak mode in Call of Duty Cold War Zombies is a strange one at first. Played on giant maps, the vibe is very different from what you’re used to when it comes to Zombies mode. You’ll be dealing with sidequests, world levels, and a whole different style of play, so read on for a walkthrough on how to play Outbreak in Call of Duty Cold War Zombies.
]]>Season two of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has landed, bringing with it a new Outbreak zombies mode, weapons, maps, Operators, and a generous helping of the undead horde to Verdansk. Of everything that's arrived, I look forward to hitting zombies with a snowmobile the most.
]]>Call Of Duty: Cold War and Warzone are kicking off season two later this week, including the big new zombies mode for Cold War. You may be headed out into the open air, but Outbreak is no vacation. Your operators are getting put to work in five different objective types, one of which is an escort mission, sorry. Activision have dished all the details and a new trailer for Outbreak mode before it launches on Thursday. You can try it out in a free access week starting on the same day, too.
]]>Season two of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives on February 25th, beginning another wave of new maps, weapons, operators and modes added to the shootybang juggernaut. Among the additions is Outbreak, a new "large-scale" co-operative Zombies mode that will appear in the first week of the season.
There's a trailer below, after which I will do my best to explain what's going on.
]]>Firebase Z, Cold War’s newest Zombies map, has a mountain of new stuff to see, do, and murder. One thing you might not quite understand comes in the form of a severed head lying around. Well, never fear. Here’s what to do with Sergei’s head in Firebase Z.
]]>The brand new Zombies map in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Firebase Z, has the whole zombie-slayin’ world talking. It’s a big map, and a really nice change of pace. There’s even a new easter egg in Firebase Z, which was figured out by community members within just two hours. So, here’s our walkthrough of how to do the Firebase Z easter egg.
]]>Call of Duty Cold War’s Zombies mode has a new map: Firebase Z. Set in Vietnam, you’re tasked with taking on hordes of zombies between a village and a military base. Without turning the power and Pack-A-Punching your weapons though, you won’t get far. So, here’s how to turn the power on, Pack-A-Punch, and get perks in Cold War Zombies’ Firebase Z.
]]>Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Season One Reloaded update is out now, which adds a new Zombies map set in the jungles of Vietnam, a new 6v6 Multiplayer map, and more. Just when I thought I'd exhausted my duty, it beckons once again.
]]>Warzone and Cold War have some cool new melee options, including the Wakizashi. They aren’t as easy to unlock as some might like though - you’ll have to be a Combat Knife expert. For the Wakizashi, you’ll need to learn to perform Finishing Moves using your trusty knife. So, with that in mind, here’s how to do Finishing Moves in Call of Duty Cold War and Warzone.
]]>If you've been hankering for some meaty new additions to Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch come bearing gifts, many gifts. Season One's big update drops today and it features new maps for Zombies and multiplayer, new modes for both, and an unlockable samurai sword for good measure. A free trial for Zombies also kicks off today and will run through January to 21st, which is a decent opportunity to give the undead a beatdown for precisely zero pounds.
]]>One of the big new multiplayer games of the year is out, but inevitably some of your pals won't have dropped the cash for it just yet. Well not to worry, you can show them the ropes from now until next Thursday for free in Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer. You can download Cold War to play holiday playlists, standard Deathmatch, Prop Hunt, and other modes for free this week.

]]>Alright alright, quiet down class. We've got a new student in the school of unlikely objects used to control games. Move over, goose costume. Pipe down, theremin. This Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War player is using a recorder. Yes, the thing you never properly learned to play Hot Cross Buns on can be used to (sometimes) score kills in Cold War's multiplayer.
]]>A new map has arrived in Call Of Duty: Warzone, the mini murderzone Rebirth Island. This new island is in its own separate 40-player mode, with ye olde Verdansk continuing to offer bigger battles. The Season One update also smooshes in a load of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, adding over of its 30 weapons to Warzone. And there's a new battle pass. And Cold War has a load of new maps and bits. There's a lot going on.
]]>Call of Duty Cold War features a huge range of rewards and cosmetics on offer, but one aspect getting keen COD veterans excited is the return of the Prestige system. It works slightly differently compared to previous iterations of the game though, so here’s what you need to know about Call of Duty Cold War’s Prestige system.
]]>It’s finally time. Cold War and Warzone are integrating to form one single, beautiful progression system, allowing us to bring our pro play to the big leagues. ]]>Season one of Call of Duty Cold War is integrating the game with Warzone Battle Royale, meaning you’ll now be able to cross-progress thanks to all the sweet guns available in both modes. That means weapons will be usable in both games too, so you’ll want to unlock the new gear as quickly as possible. One such new addition is the Sledgehammer, so here’s how to unlock the Sledgehammer in Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War.
]]>Call Of Duty is kicking off season one for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone on Wednesday, which means you'll also have a new battle pass of rewards to rip into. ]]>Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and free-to-play battle royale 'em up Call Of Duty: Warzone are scheduled to begin their great mind meld when season one for both games launches this month. Here's how to get the easter egg in Cold War Zombies mode.
]]>If, like me, you’ve been grinding away in Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer modes only to receive two measly scopes for your favourite weapon after several hours, then rejoice - for this is a problem no longer. Treyarch’s latest patch has permanently upped weapon XP rates in multiplayer and Zombies.
]]>Between hidden arcade machines and Ronald Reagan's war crimes, Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War quite badly wants to evoke the 80s. But it doesn't look like the 80s, so much as it looks like a high-budget videogame made in the late 2010s. Fortunately, you can fix that with an easter egg hidden in the newest iteration of Nuketown, with old-school colour filters hidden inside this year's synth-coloured remix of Treyarch's arena fixture.
]]>It’s that time again where we spin 180 degrees away from Infinity Ward, turn to Treyarch, and see what type of Call Of Duty they’ll slide into our hands. I expected to say “Oh titanic megacorporation, thank you so much for the shooty bang bang”, while stifling a massive yawn, but honestly, I’m buzzed off Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer offerings. It’s reawakened my post-dinner excitement to get online with The Boys™ that's lain dormant since we burned ourselves out on Warzone. I just wonder how long this feeling will last.
]]>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the latest in Activision's giant FPS series. We've been playing a whole lot of it, including the fancy pants campaign with all its branching options, as well as our classic bread-and-butter multiplayer guides. We've even been diving into Zombies mode, which has been an absolute treat, and unearthing special strats to help you get all the way to the later rounds.
]]>Call of Duty Cold War's Zombies mode is, in my opinion, best played with a squad of pals, jumping into Die Maschine and wreaking havoc on the undead constantly emerging from the ground. However, sometimes I’m absolutely sick of having to run around rescuing my pals from screaming freaks, and am extremely not up for going into a game with randomers. For that, here’s how to play solo in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
]]>In Cold War’s Zombies mode, you have the opportunity to pick out your own gun if you fancy. I’d recommend doing this early on and upgrading it as you go, since being able to choose your own attachments is a fantastic way to maximise your salvage and loot drops. Here’s our pick for the best Zombies starting loadout and Field Upgrades.
]]>Think, for a moment, about how Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's guns must feel in your digital soldier's hands. Cold, hard and metallic, even through the stiff tactical nylon of your combat gloves. Now imagine it all oozing in greasy nacho flavouring powder. That, perhaps unsurprisingly, is the inescapably tactile sensation that's stricken me since finding out you can slide into Mountain Dew's DMs to stick a Dorito chip on your Call Of Duty rifle.
]]>That's week one done in Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Treyarch have rounded up all the balance changes and bug fixes they've made so far. Guns have been adjusted and scorestreaks tweaked, all detailed in the list of first week patch notes. They've also published a new Trello board so players can keep an eye on known issues that Treyarch are working on.
]]>Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has only been out for *checks notes* less than a week and Treyarch have already nerfed the MP5. In a tweet they announced that they've reduced its damage range by 33% and adjusted its initial recoil. That last tweak isn’t super clear, but presumably it now has a bit more vertical punch when you first pull the trigger.
]]>Call of Duty Cold War’s Zombies mode in Die Maschine will become real tough real quick if you aren’t using Pack-A-Punch on your weapons and glugging down Perk drinks. However, this is far from simple - you’ll first have to switch the Power on and go through a few extra steps. Well, fear not. Here’s our guide on how to turn the power on, Pack-A-Punch, and get perks in Cold War Zombies’ Die Maschine.
]]>Call of Duty Cold War’s various multiplayer modes has been a great addition to the series. I’ve certainly been loving it, getting in there with a squad and taking out hordes of the undead or blasting enemies from across the map. Can you play split screen in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War though?.
]]>At the end of the waviest mission Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has to offer, you’ll be offered a choice by Adler. You must either tell the truth about Perseus’ location, or lie to compromise the mission. There’s a pretty clear-cut ‘good’ and ‘bad’ ending structure here, and no prizes for guessing who you have to side with to get the good one. Here’s all the campaign endings for Call of Duty Cold War and how to get them. Spoilers, obviously.
]]>In Call of Duty Cold War’s campaign, there’s a few extra bits and pieces to be done. Operation Red Circus has you working out which three out of the eight suspects are the lead Soviet agents. You need to collect extra evidence throughout the campaign levels to do this. Here’s all the evidence locations and the correct suspects to choose for Operation Red Circus.
]]>In Call of Duty Cold War’s campaign, you’ll need to find evidence to help you complete optional side missions like Operation Chaos. These must be done as extra little bits in the missions. We’ve done it all for you though, so no worries! Here’s all the evidence and floppy disk decryption for Cold War’s Operation Chaos.
]]>To the left of the door of the safehouse in Call of Duty Cold War's campaign, you’ll see a locked gate with a clipboard hanging off of it. Turns out, this is a clue for opening the gate, and all the information you need is right there in the safehouse. Here’s the code to unlock the safehouse gate in Call of Duty Cold War.
]]>Turns out, Activision didn't sprout from the ground fully formed as a Call Of Duty money-printing machine. Shocking, I know, but it seems the publishers were making cabinet games all the way back in the 80s - coincidentally, the same era in which Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War takes place. Treyarch's latest shooter pays homage to the publisher's arcade roots, with playable classics hidden across the espionage thriller's campaign.
]]>Happy Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War day! Treyarch's new shooter is out now, bringing the subseries back to its roots with a direct sequel to 2010's Cod Blops. This time around they're giving us a singleplayer campaign with a sprinkling of warcrimes and multiple endings, the usual shoot 'em up multiplayer with some new modes, and (the best part) a new Zombie adventure. Call Of Duty: Warzone is adding Black Ops stuff next month, too.
]]>Call of Duty Cold War is opting for the Scorestreak system once again, meaning you can earn bonuses through both killstreaks and playing the objective. You’ll have to get streaks of kills to get anywhere with Scorestreaks though, so don’t assume you can just go around dying and get a Chopper Gunner. Anyway, here’s all the Scorestreaks in Call of Duty Cold War.
]]>The long-awaited return of Zombies mode in Call of Duty Cold War has a lot of fans excited. It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper Zombies mode, since the closest we had in Modern Warfare and Warzone was Zombie Royale. This time though, we’re back on the classic zombie hype, so here’s our guide on Zombies in Call of Duty Cold War.
]]>In order to play Call of Duty Cold War with friends, you might want to squad up in multiplayer or zombies. Whether you can do this on various platforms is a whole different question though. Here’s what we know about Call of Duty Cold War’s crossplay.

]]>Console exclusivity, man, it's a nightmare to keep track of. With Call Of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War's release just around the corner, the latest Activision shoot-man game has come under fire for more PlayStation-exclusive gubbins. Going beyond just a time-limited new gamemode, the latest outcry concerns a host of boons that seem to ensure folks playing on PS4 and PS5 will have an edge on Cold War's cross-platform battlefields.
]]>Activision have revealed the content roadmap for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone's first season which kicks off on 10th December. It promises a slew of free weapons, maps, and modes for Blops as well as a mysterious "Classified Warzone Experience". Although, it's all largely non-specific info. Thankfully Gunfight mode is making a comeback, which I'm pretty darn excited for.
]]>If you've pre-ordered Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War digitally, you'll be able to preload the game before it launches next Friday. While consoles can preload from today, for us PC folk it will begin on Tuesday the 10th at 6pm GMT (10am Pacific).
]]>We already know that Activision are planning to inject their free-to-play battle royale 'em up Call Of Duty: Warzone with content from the next not-free game Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Activision have now given a rough timeline, saying that Verdansk will begin adding Cold War content when Black Ops season one launches in December.
]]>Holiday décor goes up earlier every year, the curmudgeons are wont to say, and so do game trailers. Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War isn't launching for over another two weeks but you won't have to wait 'till the COD BLOPS COWS come home to watch a new trailer for it. The official launch trailer is out today with new bangs, booms, and allusions to the hunt for a mythical spy.
]]>Even up on our high, turbo-cooled horses, we PC folks are not so above the petty factionalism of console rivalry. With Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War just around the corner, Activision this week revealed that they're once again locking a bonus Call Of Duty mode behind PlayStation 4 and 5 copies of the game for a year. This time, it's Zombies Onslaught, a co-op horde mode that we'll not be touching until November 1st at the earliest.
]]>The ongoing multiplayer open beta weekend for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has given both treats and tricks to fans seeking to uncover its secrets. Some people solved another ARG puzzle, which has resulted in the devs extending the beta by another day. Hooray! And other people rooting around in beta files have been rewarded with hidden YouTube links to Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up. Oh no! Curiosity is a double-edged sword. But hey, the beta will run until Tuesday. And damn the meme, it's honestly a fair song.
]]>Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer open beta kicks off this Saturday on PC and as you'd expect, it presents quite the hefty download. Thankfully you can preload it right now regardless of whether you've pre-ordered the game or not.
]]>Looks like a data miner has potentially discovered footage of Warzone's new map within Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's files. Someone posted four short clips over on Reddit which show multiplayer maps coming to Cold War, but their file names each begin with "wz_" which suggests they'll be reused as locations in the Warzone map. We may need to get our skiis on.
]]>Ahead of next weekend's PC multiplayer open beta for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the devs have announced times for pre-loading, the system requirements, and other such important numbers. This seems to be one of those 'betas' that is a time-limited demo more than an actual test, and all the marketing deals around it mean we won't have long to play it on PC. But hey, we'll get a few days to check out some multiplayer murders.
]]>Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has revealed the new version of Treyarch's signature zombies mode. The reveal goes over new weapon upgrade systems, the first map you'll be surviving in, and how Cold War will continue the story of zombies mode which has its own actual lore separate from the rest of COD.
]]>Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is steadily spooling out information leading up to its November launch date. We've seen a bit of the story campaign, new maps and modes coming to multiplayer, and heard about those upcoming betas. ]]>Next month, you'll be able to dive into the Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta and have a go of its multiplayer before the game comes out this November. Unfortunately, for all of us waiting tentatively at our PCs, we'll have to wait until the PlayStation crew have had their turn first. They get access to the beta from the 10th until the 12th of October, while PC and Xbox folks get their turn a week later, between 17th and the 19th.
]]>Following the big blast of multiplayer from Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War last week, tonight brought a wee bit of the singleplayer campaign during Sony's PlayStation 5 stream. Considering how silly CoD multiplayer is these days, especially with the japes and banter and outfits in Warzone, it is weird to see gruff soldiers stab someone through the neck before shooting them in the head while conducting an illegal assassination. Though it does swing back round when we learn a key moment in the Cold War was decided by a remote-controlled bombcar doing sick jumps over ramps.
]]>Now that we've been introduced to the Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign, Activision have also unveiled what to expect from the multiplayer side of the game. There are new maps and modes, updated slides and jumps, and changes to loadout customisation. Along with all the new bits, Activision announced when you'll get to take it for a spin. Open beta for PC players begins on Saturday, October 17th.
]]>Hot off the heels of last night's Nvidia Ampere reveal, we also got new ray tracing trailers for Cyberpunk 2077, Minecraft, Watch Dogs Legion, and the newly announced Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I've collected them altogether below, but the Cyberpunk 2077 one is particularly shiny, if only because it's a new "max settings 4K trailer" showing CD Projekt Red's upcoming RPG at its very best. Let's take a look
]]>"Every mission we go on is illegal," our heroes proudly declare in a new Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War trailer. They're explaining to Ronald Reagan (the actor) and to us why they should be given free rein to hunt for Perseus, a maybe-mythical Soviet agent who could be raising a big stink. Cod Blops Cow will have multiple endings, unusually for a CoD, so maybe we'll be able to sack it off and just grill the Gipper on what it was like to work with Bette Davis.

]]>Activision have officially confirmed that the next Call Of Duty will indeed be named Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and they plan to reveal the game on August 26th. What's more exciting, though, is that it might well be revealed inside Warzone. This info was discovered by some clever fans who've been figuring out clues in the game's ongoing ARG. ]]>Activision would usually have announced the next annual Call Of Duty game by this point of the year, but seem thrown by the cancellation of E3. We're hearing about it anyway, mind. According to leaks, this year's game will be Call Of Duty: Black Ops CIA and will trip across Germany, Russia, and Vietnam during the Cold War.
]]>Development of next year’s entry in the Call Of Duty franchise seems to have gone through a significant shift this week, as reported by Jason Schreier at Kotaku. Apparently, publishers Activision have changed the studios working on the game, moving it from Raven and Sledgehammer to Black Ops developers Treyarch, who will be working to release Black Ops 5 a year earlier than expected.
