Dead Space was announced tonight during EA Play, but its brief teaser trailer offered very little information. Instead, the developers revealed more in an interview with IGN.
The gist: it's early days, but they're looking to be faithful to the original game - and no, it won't have microtransactions.
]]>If I'd have seen the new Grid Legends trailer a month ago, I guarantee there would've been zero emotional response. My brain would've been as silent as an electric car passing through a field of tumbleweed. But now look at me! Ever since I watched people play rally games beautifully, I've had this car game renaissance. Yep, against all odds, I'm interested in it.
]]>A lot of games claim to be Tim Burton-y, but Lost In Random might reasonably be called Henry Selick-y. It's an action RPG inspired by dark fairy tales and stop-motion animated films, and brings to mind Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline. And, in a way, American McGee's Alice.
Its September 10th release date was announced tonight at EA Play, and a new trailer is below.
]]>When Electronic Arts bought Codemasters earlier this year, they said it was "the beginning of an exciting new era for racing games and content", and now they've announced their first foray into said new era. Grid Legends is the next instalment of Codies' Grid series, and, yeah, it has cars and racing and all that good stuff. This one has a pretty involved story mode too, from the looks of things. Check out the trailer from EA Play Live below.
]]>Look, I clearly don't say it often enough when new characters are revealed, so here we are: Seer is my new main in Apex Legends. Dibs have been called. During EA Play Live tonight, Respawn Entertainment showed the new launch trailer for the battle royale's next season, Emergence, and revealed a little more info about the next Legend Seer. Turns out, he can track enemies a little bit like Bloodhound, and his ultimate ability tracks enemies in a big pretty orb.
]]>Come one, come all! Join us in watching Electronic Arts' NotE3 stream, EA Play Live. Kicking off at 6pm BST (or 10am PT for you folks across the pond), EA will have announcements and footage for games like Battlefield 2042, Apex Legends, Lost In Random and potentially even Dead Space, if the rumours are true.
]]>WonderSteam, N-Gabe, Valvita: you can call it whatever you like because Valve have made their intentions clear. They’re keen to elbow their way into the handheld market with the Steam Deck.
]]>Electronic Arts' NotE3 stream, EA Play Live, takes place this Thursday, and at this point it seems they've announced more of what they're not showing than what they will be showing. No BioWare, no Star Wars, and now no Skate. I can't believe they'd do this. Fine, take the magic swords and spaceships, but the skateboards? Utterly cruel. Fortunately, the Skate team have teased that a "little something" would be shown today, so all is not lost.
]]>Sad news my fellow BioWare game-enjoyers: they don't have anything to show at EA Play Live this month. Truly, can EA even do a livestream without showing some rocks from Dragon Age 4? How could they just whack Liara in the trailer for Mass Effect 5 and leave us hanging like that? Oh well. I had been holding out hope that they might announce Mass Effect 3's multiplayer for Legendary Edition, but I guess we'll just watch more Battlefield 2042 gameplay again. Sigh.
]]>Electronic Arts' subscription service EA Play was supposed to become a part of Xbox Game Pass For PC back in December, but on the day it was supposed to arrive, it got delayed into this year. The wait is nearly over though, because today's the day that a big selection EA's games will be available to all Xbox Game Pass members. The Sims, Star Wars: Squadrons, a couple of Battlefields, and tons more will soon be included in your subscription at no extra cost.
]]>As if all the games on offer on Xbox Game Pass for PC weren't already a pretty good deal, Electronic Arts are adding a big old library of games to the service soon, too. As of December 15th, Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate members will have access to EA Play for no extra cost. That means for your basic Game Pass sub of £8/$10 a month, you can play tons of Microsoft's games (as well as many others) and all your fave EA ones like Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Sims 4, Battlefield V and more.
]]>Origin is, like, so last decade. A few weeks ago, Electronic Arts changed the name of Origin Access to EA Play. Turns out it's not just the subscription service getting a shake-up however, oh no, they're coming for the Origin software too. EA aren't getting rid of their launcher, rather it's suffering a far worse fate: it's being renamed to the EA desktop app. How catchy.
]]>Xbox Game Pass For PC is already an absurd bargain, giving access to all Microsoft's games at launch and many others for a few quid per month, and soon it'll include a load of Electronic Arts games too. Microsoft today announced that the basic EA Play membership will be added to Xbox Game Pass subscriptions later this year, and the price will stay the same. This isn't the EA Play Pro membership which includes all their new games as they come out, but it will give you access to games including Fifa 20, Battlefield V, and The Sims 4.
]]>Electronic Arts left Steam nine years ago to do their own thing with Origin, but over the last few months their games have been returning. Now, their subscription service, EA Play, is on Valve's platform, too, allowing you to play games like the Dragon Age series, Battlefield V, and more on Steam for a monthly or yearly fee. It's not just the old stuff EA are letting Steam have though, because you'll be able to access some of the publisher's new releases through the service as well.
]]>Electronic Arts have rebranded their Origin Access subscription service to EA Play, and announced that it will launch on Steam on August 31st. As before, it lets people play many of EA's games for as long as they pay, with a pricier tier giving access to their newest games. However, it seems only the basic version of EA Play is coming to Steam - EA are keeping their Pro tier to their own platform, Origin, for now.
