Crema, the creators of much-liked Pokemon-like Temtem, are teasing a new untitled game set in the same universe - the mystifying Project Downbelow. It isn't Temtem: Swarm, aka Temtem Vampire Survivors, nor is it Temtem 2. But it will "try out new things we would love to see in a hypothetical Temtem 2", including a new combat system running on a "stronger" game engine. The tease accompanies news that Crema are making significant changes to Temtem as part of the game's update 1.7 - for one thing, they're getting rid of the whole microtransaction system. Temtempestuous times indeed!
]]>Temtem was a brief mega-hit when it launched in Early Access back in 2020, as a Pokémon-like that was both online and on PC. Now it's getting its own "survivor-like bullet heaven" spin-off called Temtem: Swarm.
]]>Humble Games, the Humble Bundle-owned label responsible for publishing indie hits including Slay the Spire, Signalis, Unpacking, Temtem and this year’s recently Grammy-nominated RPG musical Stray Gods, have confirmed a number of layoffs.
]]>Six months ago, MMORPG Temtem introduced a mode that let you jump straight into the game’s 2v2 turn-based battles, ignoring the busywork of quests, creature-catching, and all the other Pokémon-isms. Showdown was the mode's name; something for the animal fight pit lovers in the room, rather than the plain old animal lovers. That mode has now been spun into a free standalone release aptly called Temtem Showdown, out now.
]]>Pokémon fans are likely well acquainted with the Nuzlocke challenge: a self-imposed, community-made ruleset designed to make playthroughs tougher. Nuzlocke playthroughs have been around for at least a decade, but they’ve never received official in-game support until now. Kinda. In a different game. Creature-collecting MMO Temtem has added three new challenge modes (including Nuzlocke) as part of its Season 3: Clash Of Tamers. Patch 1.3 is also bringing a new area, an island worth of balance changes, and much more.
]]>Aspiring animal fight pit enthusiasts can now skip the hard work of capturing, breeding and training their definitely-willing combatants, and instead jump straight into Temtem's PvP battles. The Pokemon-like MMO's 1.2 update introduces Showdown, a ranked competitive ladder where players are free to twiddle with their line-up using simulated Temtems.
The update also tweaks how PvP ranking works, adds new PvP battle zones, and a beauty centre where you can tweak your character's appearance. There's a new season of cosmetic doodads, too.
]]>Temtem’s inspiration has always been clear. We didn’t beat around the bush when it entered early access back in 2020 - Cian Maher called it the best Pokemon game in years - and I won’t beat around the bush now. It’s still the best Pokemon game in years. It borrows so much from Nintendo's behemoth, but it also takes some much-needed lessons that Game Freak fails to recognise, taking the formula to its highest evolution yet.
]]>Monster-taming MMO Temtem just launched out of early access on PC earlier this week, but developers Crema have taken to Discord to defend the game’s paid battle pass. Some players have been getting themselves very worked up over the inclusion of a paid pass in a full-priced game. Yet there’s been a plan to include a battle pass in Temtem for years. Check out the game’s launch trailer below while you wrap your head around it all.
]]>MMO creature battle 'em up Temtem has hatched some details on what to expect when it hits its 1.0 release next month. A new trailer gives details on the island known as "Tamer's Paradise," which hosts a bunch of challenges geared towards end-game players.
]]>'Monster taming' is a genre larger than just Pokémon, such that I always feel a little bad drawing comparisons to the genre's dominant force when talking about other games inspired by it.
But then, just look at Temtem. It's not exactly hiding its inspirations. Temtem is undoubtedly like Pokémon, but set in a world populated by other players. After a couple of years in early access, the developers announced today that they're aiming for to hit 1.0 this September.
]]>Temtem's Cipanku island update is live now, adding a new region to the monster taming MMO - plus new Temtem to catch, a teleport sytem, and a lot else. There's a new trailer below that outlines all the new features.
]]>Temtem is another game that found popularity at the beginning of 2020 - which, as you know, was roughly six years ago. The monster taming MMO has been relatively quiet in the year since, but its next major island-adding expansion will launch on April 13th.
]]>Looking for a Temtem type chart? Like that little game called Pokemon from which it borrows so much, Temtem has various different types. There are twelve types in total, and each Temtem will have either one or two types. For example, a Temtem can be purely Fire type, or a hybrid of Fire and Flying. Each type is strong and weak against other types, meaning most battles will be won by the Temtem tamer with the best types for that particular match. A Water Temtem will almost always destroy a Fire Temtem, while Fire will destroy Nature types. There are a lot of other type matchups, though, and it can all get rather confusing, so we're here to help.
In this guide, we'll provide a Temtem type chart to show the strengths and weaknesses of every Temtem type.
]]>Some Temtem introduced in the latest expansion are quite rare, but the rarest available one is Rhoulder. It's an earth/neutral type rhino that is an absolute beast.
]]>Most of the new Temtem introduced in the latest expansion were exclusive to the Kisiwa region, but with the climbing gloves now available there is one of the older Temtem that is now reachable. Hocus is a powerful mental type Temtem and well worth looking for if you didn't choose the mental type starter.
]]>Want to know how to evolve Tuwai in Temtem? When you first start MMO creature-collector Temtem, you will receive a Temtem named Tuwai from the professor. Tuwai might seem like a regular tropical bird, but the professor states that there's more to it than meets the eye. It takes a while to fully realise that potential, but it is indeed true - Tuwai can evolve into six different Temtem of different types. If you've played Pokemon, Tuwai is Temtem's version of Eevee, and you'll need to hunt down and clear six different Shrines if you want to get every evolution.
In this guide, we'll break down each of Tuwai's evolutions in Temtem and explain how to get each Tuwai evolution. We'll also explain where you can catch more Tuwai if you want every evolution.
]]>Looking for a full list of every Temtem and where to find them? There are over 160 Temtem in the full release, offering a creature catching collection that rivals the initial lineup of Pokemon available in Red and Blue. However, these Temtem are spread across the many islands of the Airborne Archipelago, and it's going to be a huge challenge to find them all.
In this guide, we'll provide a full list of every Temtem, their type, and provide a quick summary of where to find them all. For Temtem evolutions, we also provide the necessary requirements to gain that Temtem via evolution.
]]>Want to learn the types and best strategy for all Temtem Dojos? Temtem Dojos are rather confusing, as their types are rarely made clear in-game. In fact, they often use multiple types, so you won't be able to plough through with a single Temtem. If you do manage to reach a Dojo leader, you'll find that their teams are filled with tough Temtem that could rip through the unpreparead.
In this guide, we'll break down all of the Temtem Dojos, explaining each of their types, how to reach the Dojo leader if there is a puzzle, and some recommend Temtem to use if you're struggling.
]]>New features, new monsters and, of course, a brand new island are what await you in Temtem today, as the Kisiwa Island update has arrived. Crema's early access Pokémon-like MMO has introduced a whole new area to explore, with 23 new Tems for you to add to your collection. There's a bunch of other good stuff in this update, too, including a new chat and club feature, as well as an increased level cap for all you seasoned Temtem tamers.
]]>Everyone’s a cook now, is that it? A few weeks in lockdown and you’re all suddenly artisan bakers and Bon Appétit Kitchen presenters? Sorry, I don’t buy it. Put the chickpeas down, Jeff. We all know what happens when you let things “simmer”. However, there is a world in which your cooking really does impress. Where it comes out of the pot scrumptious and hot and more flavourful than a generous bite from a big round onion. That world is videogames. Did you think I was going to say something else? I never say anything else. It’s videogames. Here are the 9 most delicious dinners in videogames.
]]>Temtem can't get enough of their Pokémon inspired features - it shouldn't be a surprise really, it's a Pokémon-inspired MMO after all. Crema have released yet another roadmap through early access and beyond, this time telling us about some of the lovely new things we can expect to start arriving in the game from this winter, including a good old fashioned Nuzlocke game mode. They've also provided some details on an upcoming battle pass-style system, as well as something called Dojo Wars.
]]>Everyone's favourite Pokémon-like MMO is getting some brand new additions this year, including 50 new Temtem and two new islands to catch them on. Temtem developers, Crema, have released a short-term roadmap talking about some highly-requested new features coming to the game's competitive scene, as well as a few other bits like player housing. Soon there'll be an infinite plot of land where everyone can build a home for their Tem-friends!
]]>Fancy a trip to the park? Massively multiplayer catch 'em up TemTem certainly hopes so, dropping update 0.5.12 this week. The headline attraction is the Saipark, a natural reserve located near the Prasine coast in Deniz. Opening its doors to experienced trainers, the Saipark offers a rotating collection of extra-special pocket monsters each week, for a modest price
]]>By the time you get to the third Temtem dojo, you've probably met the vast majority of the available Temtem. But then the third dojo leader springs Shuine upon you and suddenly things get a lot more difficult. Naturally, once you've beaten it, you'll want one. We've tracked this rare beast down so you don't have to spend hours mindlessly wandering around the world of Temtem.
]]>Do you want a Temtem that's a reliably hard-hitter, has access to great moves, and not too many glaring weaknesses? At some point in the game, you're just given one of the best Temtem available in the Early Access build. It's a Netural/Crystal type Temtem that sprints like a ninja from a certain popular anime show. Don't let its silly run deceive you, this badger packs a punch.
]]>Found late into Temtem's Early Access campaign, Gyalis is one of the weirdest looking creatures so far. It's a Crystal/Melee type that is supposed to look like a praying mantis made out of rubies. It can be a force to be reckoned with on the right team though, as long as you know when best to use it.
]]>Did you choose Crystle as your starter in Temtem? It's a fantastic option for new players, but did you know that they can be found out in the wild? You won't see them until the third island and they're found in a rather specific spot, but if you didn't get one to begin with, this Temtem is worth seeking.
]]>Want to know the best starter in Temtem? There are three starter Temtem that you can choose, and they make for very different experiences in the early game. Before exploring the entire Airborne Archipelago and gaining access to every type under the Pansun, your options will be limited. With that in mind, you'll need to rely on your starter Temtem for most fights, making this an incredibly important choice.
In this guide, we'll help you choose your starter Temtem and explain which starter is best. We'll also break down where to catch each starter Temtem, so that you can collect all three starters for your team.
]]>Want to know how to get Luma Temtem? As you rush around and catch Temtem in patches of tall grass, there's a chance that you might find a rare Luma Temtem. These Luma Temtem are incredibly rare variants that have a different colour pattern and three perfect stats. That makes them worth finding for both collectors and fighters, but did we mention that they're rare? One more time so that everyone hears: Luma Temtem are very rare, so you'll need to spend plenty of time hunting for them. Fortunately, there are ways for avid Luma hunters to increase the odds.
In this guide, we'll break down everything you need to know about Luma Temtem, including the current chance to find a Luma Temtem and how to make Luma Temtem spawn more often.
]]>You've probably seen a few people roaming around with Oceara, a Temtem that is one of the toughest in the first Dojo. It has some incredibly high base stats in speed and special attack, as well as access to some devastating water moves. It's a very tempting Temtem to go hunting for and does have its uses, but should you invest the time trying to find it?
]]>If there is one Temtem that I say is absolutely mandatory to capture, it is Nessla. It's name might sound like a forced portmanteau of a mythical beast and the father of electricity, but this Temtem is no joke. It's incredibly overpowered thanks to a combination of one attack and one of its abilities, so it's worth hunting this elusive Temtem down just to take advantage of it.
]]>Among the rarest Temtem in the game so far is Kinu. It's a Nature/Mental type whose moves aren't going to be damaging the opponent much. However, that isn't its role. Instead, Kinu is a fantastic support with healing and status inflicting moves that you should be pairing with your strongest attackers. But first you're going to have to find it.
]]>You may have seen a request from one of the NPCs for a Temtem called Barnshe. It's a particularly rare bird that only appears in one area. It's a great option for those looking to have a Mental type in their party as it has access to a lot of great moves, but it comes with one major caveat that you need to know in advance.
]]>Everyone is playing Temtem, but no-one is saying it: they are clearly edible. But which of these visibly delicious sweets is the best for you?
After analysis of internal business and laboratory notes, several interviews, and much research in the field, I'm pleased to present our first ever Temtem flavour guide.
]]>Temtem's early access release doesn't wrap up with a nice, warm hug offering clarity and closure. Instead it leaves you on a literal cliffhanger, hook-slinging your way from precipice to precipice on the way to the sweltering savannahs of Kisiwa, a to-be-released island apparently teeming with political unrest and Earth Temtems.
I'm not frustrated that the game doesn't currently have a more concrete conclusion. Temtem signs off with carefully selected vignettes designed to show what the game has to offer in the long run: a vivid, vibrant world that will keep expanding.
]]>We're a bit late with this month's Can't Stop Playing, because we couldn't decide. But after some discussion, there is one clear answer. Temtem, the new PC game where you catch small monsters and battle them in teams, has taken over our office this past while.
]]>In the first few areas of Temtem, there are small rodent-like creates called Skail. They appear rather often, making it tempting to see if it could be a new member of your Temtem team. This, however, should not happen, because Skail are rather useless.
]]>There are very few Temtem that I would consider to be a great early option to catch, but Ganki is a great option for new players. It combines both Wind and Electric types, which takes very little damage from Wind type attacks, but does have access to many moves that could prove useful in the first Dojo.
]]>Want to know how to get all Temtem evolutions? If you've played Pokemon, you might expect that your Temtem also have evolutions. They can indeed evolve into new forms, but Temtem evolutions work a little differently than you might expect. Rather than occuring at set levels, Temtem evolutions happen after your creature has gained a certain amount of levels. Those might sound exactly the same, but the subtle difference is incredibly important. For example, a Paharo will not evolve at the same level for everyone. Instead, everyone must gain the same amount of levels with their Paharo after catching it. Paharo requires seven levels, so a Paharo captured at level 10 will evolve at level 17. Now that you know how Temtem evolution works, we can break down how to get every Temtem evolution.
In this guide, we'll explain how to get every Temtem evolution, including the exact levels required to evolve every Temtem and other criteria that you might need to fulfil to evolve some rare Temtem.
]]>Temtem's Courses, or TCs as they are also known, are how you teach moves to your Temtem that they cannot normally learn. They can be used multiple times on any compatible Temtem, but there is only one copy of each of them in the game. Some are found in specific areas, while others are rewards for completing quests.
]]>Early access Pokemon-like MMO Temtem is battling through the rough waters that come with an online game release. The indie creature catching game overcame long login queues during its launch week. The next problem stepping onto the battlefield is a standard one for MMOs: cheaters and exploits. Crema said today that they've identified and banned 900 accounts that are "either a cheater or has abused exploits intentionally."
]]>Gears in Temtem are items that you don't use yourself. Instead, you give them to your Temtem and they will benefit from their effects. They can augment their attacks, increase their resistance to a type, or even improve your chance to capture a wild Temtem. They're incredibly useful, but there is usually only one of each in the game.
]]>Temtem is an early access game in which you trap and tame small creatures in magical cards, battle them against other tamers, and try to tame every variety of Temtem on the strange archipelago where you live. If this sounds like it's all a synonym for Pokémon that's because it is: Temtem is Pokémon on PC. Except, well, there are loads of Autochess games and Battle Royale games, so fantasy dogfights can be a larger genre than one series, right?
Although, that being said, Temtem does hit an awful lot of familiar beats, especially at the start. You wake up - today is a special day! Today you get to become a Temtem tamer! You run down the stairs, excited to finally leave home. You run into your "friend" Max, who is already committing to their role as your rival by being a hateful tool. And... who's that? Who else is here on your special day?
]]>Tempting tempeh! Tempura templars! Temerarious temperatures! It is unclear at present whether Temtem is a contraction of anything, and what exactly it means if it is, but this Pokélike is the brand new catch ‘em up from Spanish studio CremaGames.
Temtem is an unashamed rip-off of Pokémon in almost every respect, but that’s why it’s good. It’s an homage to Pokémon before it was Pokémon, the 25-year-spanning, $900 million dollar-grossing mass entertainment franchise plastered across every schoolbag on Earth. Temtem is still just Temtem, first of its name, estranged child of multimedia mammoth and heir to legions of PC players who have been sweating for an MMO collect-‘em-all since the first time they saw the chunky electric mouse do a lightning bolt.
]]>If you've spent the past two decades fantasising about enslaving wild creatures to do your bidding, boy howdy, do I have good news. Temtem is a Pokemon-inspired MMO for PC that came out on early access yesterday. Everything you know and love from the Pokemon games you were never allowed to play is here. Gyms are dojos, trainers are tamers, and your menagerie of adorable fighting beasts use elemental attacks in turn-based battles. It is Pokemon with synonyms and multiplayer. You might like that.
]]>If Temtem looks like a Pokemon game to you, that's because it absolutely is a lot like Pokemon. The Applin doesn't fall far from the Sudowoodo—yes, it's a Pokemon joke on a PC website. If you weren't familiar with the brightly colored creature catching MMO before, now is a decent time to change that. The game comes out on January 21st, but you can sign up to join the public stress test before release for free.
